About Ethan

"I want to make it easier to get help sooner—without the pressure to have the right words or the 'right' kind of problem."

Ethan works with adults and older teens (15+) who know something needs to change but aren't sure where to start. Therapy runs in his family—his father is also a therapist, and growing up around that work shaped his understanding that reaching out for support is a practical decision, not a sign of weakness.

Who he works with:

  • Adults navigating anxiety, stress, or emotional disconnect—who want practical tools, not just talk
  • Men who've been putting off getting help—with a particular focus on men's mental health, anger, and emotional well-being
  • First responders and professionals carrying the weight of high-pressure roles
  • People dealing with burnout, work stress, or the weight of trying to hold it all together
  • Young adults and older teens (15+) figuring out identity, purpose, and direction

Personal Approach

Growing up with a father in the field gave Ethan a firsthand understanding of what good therapy looks like. His approach is calm, structured, and gently challenging—with a sense of humour that makes the work feel less heavy.

Faith Integration

Christian faith can be woven in organically when you want it—always client-led, never imposed. His therapeutic approaches integrate naturally with a faith perspective. Secular therapy is equally welcome.

What Working Together Feels Like

Sessions with Ethan are practical, focused, and grounded. He works at your pace but will gently challenge you when needed to encourage growth. You'll walk away from most sessions with something concrete to work on—not just insights, but actual tools to apply between sessions.

You don't need to be in crisis to start. And you don't have to force emotion or "open up" before you're ready.

Many people come in not sure what to say—and that's completely fine. Ethan creates a warm, judgement-free space where you can be honest at your own pace. The work is collaborative: we figure out what matters to you and build a plan around it.

What You'll Gain

In 6–12 sessions, clients often experience:

Deeper self-understanding — clarity around the patterns driving your struggles
Practical skills you can apply between sessions and in daily life
Healthier responses to stress, anger, and difficult emotions
Renewed sense of purpose and direction

Training & Approach

  • Master of Arts in Counselling Psychology (MACP)
  • Beck Institute-trained in CBT for Trauma
  • Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT)
  • Solution-Focused Brief Therapy
  • Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT)
  • Mindfulness-Based Approaches
  • Person-Centred Therapy

My Approach

I use Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) as a foundation—helping you get unstuck by building psychological flexibility. That means learning to handle difficult thoughts and feelings without being controlled by them, and taking action toward what actually matters to you.

Your First Session

  • We'll get to know each other—you'll share what's going on while Ethan listens and asks questions to understand the full picture
  • No pressure to have all the answers—or any of them
  • We'll collaboratively set goals that shape the direction of future sessions

Evening sessions are available for those who need flexibility around work schedules.

Common Questions

Do I need to know what I want to work on?

No. A lot of people start with just a feeling that something's off—and that's enough. We'll figure it out together.

Is therapy faith-based or secular?

That's your call. Christian faith can be part of the process if you want it, or we can keep things completely secular. Either way works.

How many sessions will I need?

It depends on what you're working through. Some people see real progress in 6–8 sessions; others benefit from longer support. We'll check in regularly and adjust as we go.

What if I feel nervous about starting?

That's normal—especially if this is your first time. There's no pressure to say everything right away. We'll go at your pace.
