When Faith Matters

You've tried praying. You've read scripture. Maybe you've talked to your pastor. And perhaps that's helped—but you're still struggling. Now there's guilt on top of the pain, wondering if you lack faith.

Here's what's true: seeking therapy isn't a failure of faith. It's wisdom. God designed us for relationship and healing often happens in connection with others.

Faith-integrated therapy brings your spiritual life into the therapeutic process—not as a replacement for evidence-based approaches, but alongside them.

What Faith Integration Can Look Like

Faith integration is entirely client-led. You decide if and how your faith shows up in therapy. These elements are available when you want them—never assumed or imposed:

Prayer

If you'd like, we can open or close sessions with prayer, or pause to pray through difficult moments.

Scripture

When it feels meaningful to you, we can explore passages that speak to what you're facing.

Spiritual Perspective

If you choose, we can understand your struggles through a lens that includes your faith and God's presence.

Faith-Based Resources

Books, devotionals, and practices are available if they align with how you want to grow.

Some clients want faith woven throughout. Others prefer it in the background. Both are welcome.

Still Evidence-Based

Faith integration doesn't mean abandoning proven therapeutic approaches. We use the same evidence-based methods—Emotionally Focused Therapy, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, and others—while honouring your spiritual framework.

Think of it as both/and, not either/or. The research-backed techniques that help rewire thought patterns and heal attachment wounds work alongside the spiritual resources that bring meaning, hope, and connection to something greater.

Common Questions

Do I have to include faith in my therapy?

Not at all. Faith integration is entirely optional. Many clients prefer secular therapy, and that's completely respected. We discuss your preferences during the initial consultation.

What denomination do you work with?

We work with clients from various Christian backgrounds. The focus is on your personal faith and relationship with God, not denominational specifics.

What if I'm questioning my faith?

Faith and doubt can coexist. If you're wrestling with spiritual questions, that's welcome here. Therapy can be a space to explore those struggles honestly.

Is this like pastoral counselling?

No. While we integrate faith, this is still professional psychotherapy with a registered therapist. We're trained in mental health treatment, not pastoral care—though both have value.
